The Starlight Orchestra, San Francisco’s premier party band, has packed the dance floor at Harry Denton’s Starlight Room at San Francisco’s Sir Francis Drake Hotel since August 1995.
The Starlight Orchestra performs a great variety of music starting with jazz, blues and swing and ending with funky R&B, Motown, Latin and dance hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Thanks in part to The Starlight Orchestra, the Starlight Room has been named the most popular bar and nightclub in San Francisco by the San Francisco Chronicle’s Readers’ Poll.
The seven-piece Starlight Orchestra consists of keyboards, bass, drums, a horn, guitar with a female and male vocalist. Additional horns can be added.
The Starlight Orchestra features the Bay Area’s top musicians. Members of the Orchestra have performed with pop and jazz stars including Santana, Huey Lewis, blues great Charles Brown, Cab Calloway and Pete Escovedo.
The Starlight Orchestra is a favorite choice for Bay Area society and corporate functions. They headlines the S.F. Symphony’s Opening Gala in September, 2004 and the Napa Wine Auction (the second largest in the world), performed at the 1997, 1999 and 2001 S.F. Symphony’s Black and White Balls and for the AT&T Golf Tournament in Carmel. They perform for many benefits including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Man and Woman of the Year, Stop Aids, Suicide Prevention and the National Down Syndrome Foundation. Their corporate clients include Charles Schwab, Saks Fifth Avenue, UST and Merrill Lynch. In addition, The Starlight Orchestra performs for many weddings and over 100 nights per year at Harry Denton’s Starlight Room.
