Donna Turner studied classical music at the Guildhall School of Music in London and has been performing professionally since the 1970’s. Donna fronted her own rock band, “The Donna Turner Band” in the Bay Area for eight years and has toured Japan. She has appeared as backup vocalist with Mary Wells and performs and records with Dr. Elmo, Roberta Donnay, Doug Adam & Bravo and the Chaz Cats. Most recently she has performed with the swing band “Swing Noir” in such venues as: The Sweetwater, Flint Center, Bimbos and Cafe du Nord. Donna is a former member of the a cappella trio “Girls Night Out”.
Daria has studied with jazz greats Bobby McFerrin and Mark Murphy. The 1998 release of her debut CD “Just the Beginning” has received high critical acclaim and international airplay. Daria has appeared and recorded with musicians who have toured with such luminaries as Flora Purim, Carlos Santana, Sarah Vaughan and Zakir Hussein. She has performed both internationally and locally, including performances at Yoshi’s nightspot, Mr. E’s, Noe Valley Ministry, The Sweetwater, concerts sponsored by Jazz In Flight, the San Francisco Jazz Festival and the San Francisco Arts Commission. She has been featured on KCSM, KPFA and WNOP, Cincinnati and has recorded backup vocals and voice-overs for radio commercials. Her new CD “Feel The Rhythm” was released in 2005. Daria currently tours with Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks.
Phyllis Addison is a singer, keyboardist, recording artist and dancer. She holds a master’s degree in composition from Mills College and has many songs and instrumental pieces to her credit. She has played her original music across the United States, performing and recording in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami in such venues as: At My Place, Cafe Largo, Comeback Inn, The Sweetwater, The Roxy, New Langton Arts, Staten Island Institute for the Arts and the Los Angeles Theater Center. Phyllis has been featured on KPFA, KPFK, WDNA, Miami and Radio Belgrade. Most recently, she was singer, dancer and keyboardist in Hawaii’s most popular band “Jimmy Mac and the Kool Kats”. Her new CD, “Seven Gifts” was released in 2004.
