Tom Torriglia

Accordian - Vocal - Rollerblades - Polka
Bay Music and Entertainment performer

Tom Torriglia is one of the most sought-after musical entertainers in the Bay Area for his incredible musical talent, his professional attitude, theme-appropriate outfits, and his ability to bring a smile to the faces of guests in attendance. Tom typically performs as a solo strolling or stationary accordionist, as a “meet and greet” person or as a pied piper for groups of people going from one location to another. In addition to working as a soloist, Tom performs with other strolling musicians or as part of a combo for dancing or listening.

Tom specializes in both playing and singing Italian and Italian-American favorites. The fact that Tom sings, especially in Italian, helps to enhance the ambience of Italian-themed events. He gets people singing along on classics like “O Marie”,”O Sole Mio” and of course, “That’s Amore.” Guests loves it when Tom strolls from table to table during a dinner performing the “Pasta Song.” Tom is also frequently hired to play French music and Polkas. He typically performs for weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events, conventions, and any event where people want to have a good time and enjoy festive music.

Tom was invited to be a part of Those Darn Accordions, a band that was only going to perform one gig. That one gig turned into 7 years for Tom. As the leader of TDA, Tom guided the band to numerous high-profile gigs at places like the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, The Luther Burbank Center for the Performing Arts-opening for the Temptations, The Milwaukee Summerfest, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, as well as the International Accordion Competition in Castelfidardo, Italy and the 1992 Accordion Festival and competition in Vilnius, Lithuania.

In 1990, Tom co-produced the first San Francisco Accordion Festival and the Ms. Accordion San Francisco Pageant at the Anchorage Shopping center in Fisherman’s Wharf. This festival is now in its 16th year and is currently held at the Cannery in Fisherman’s Wharf. In January 2006, Tom’s CD with his group Bella Ciao was recognized by the Grammy Award Nominating Committee.
